Wondering how your Human Design strategy might impact your business? Read on to learn how this simple framework can help you choose what to focus on in your online business.
Here's the thing: You've tried so many strategies in your online business but only a few seem to work. And you can't figure out why some work, and others don't.
You follow what people tell you to do because you are an action-taker. It's not like you sit there and try it and then when it doesn't work, you're like, “Oh boy, I'm just gonna move on to the next shiny thing and maybe that will work.”
No, that's not you. You try and get things working. You try the strategies. You try the tactics, but you can't figure out how to make them work for you.
You feel like you're missing a secret ingredient that the guru, coach, or whoever shared it, decided not to include because that's how they ‘get you'…
So, what's really going on here?
I truly believe that it's because when someone shares a strategy or a tactic, they are sharing what has worked for them. The key piece is that it works FOR THEM.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to running an online business. When it comes to running any business, for that matter.
But there are so many coaches, so many people out there saying that their way is the best way. And while that might ring true for some people…
I'm not saying that you won't see success with a coach, course, etc, because you might but only if it actually aligns with how you are you-niquely designed to show up.
So how do you figure out this stuff? How do you figure out which strategy or tactic that someone is sharing is going to work for you?
That's what I'm going to share with you in this blog post. A simple framework using your Human Design strategy that allows you to filter things through so you know that you're pursuing strategies and tactics that align with:
- how you want to run your business,
- how you want to show up in your business,
- and what offers you want to create and sell.

Understanding your Human Design Strategy starts with what doesn't work
It really starts by figuring out what doesn't work for you, even before you start figuring out how your Human Design strategy can help you in your business.
And I know you're smart. I'm sure you already have an idea of things you don't like doing — things that make you feel drained.
So we start by making a list of the things that don't excite us when it comes to our online businesses.
Now, there is a slight caveat to this.
There is a difference between listing things that you don't enjoy doing versus listing things that you're scared to do. Right? There's a big difference between those two things.
So when you start writing this list, really be honest with yourself and ask, “Look, is this actually something that I'm scared of doing, or is it something I know within my body just doesn't gel with me.”
And yes, it is about what you feel in your body. You read that right. That's also a nod to understanding your Human Design strategy, but more on that in a second.
This is what your list should be based on—what doesn't gel, what are the things that instantly give you a negative response in your body or no response at all. Because sometimes, a ‘no' could show up in your body as simply feeling nothing.
Ok, now it's your turn!
Sit down and make that list first.
Get clear on what doesn't light you up. What are the things that you don't enjoy?
And if you're still not sure about that, this is where the value is in actually trying someone else's strategy. Like trying on a pair of jeans to see if they fit.
Try something out and see how it feels within your body as you experience it.
Now if you're going to go that path, I would say that you need to give something a solid 30 days to try it out. And what I mean by that is consistently taking action on that one strategy or that one tactic every single day for 30 days to see if it's something that aligns with you, to see if it's something that gels or not.
That's the first step in figuring out what works best for you.
Using your Human Design Strategy to focus on your business
Once you've got that list, we can move on to figuring out how you can take someone's strategy and tweak it so that it does align with you.
There are so many different ways to run your business, so many different ways to market your business, so many different ways to get people into your business and so many different ways to create offers…
How do you figure all of this out?
Well now that we've got a list of the things that don't align, the things that you're just like, “I don't want to do these things”, how do you figure out what works best for you?
A simple framework
This is where the human design framework has been a huge advantage in my business over the past 2 years. I've been intentionally implementing human design for over 3 years now, especially when it comes to my online business.
I have always strived to run a business that's easy and fun. And it's not like you won't know what things do feel good because I was aware of when something felt right.
No. The problem is when we see a strategy that someone is so excited about and they're like, “This is working so well for me and I've had so much success with my students and my customers are seeing all these results'‘, that you can get caught up in that hype, that excitement. It's infectious, amiright?!
And then you end up buying their amazing thing, digging in but seeing little to no success. You're left wondering what you did wrong. ????
Instead of stopping to look at how it just wasn't the right fit, or how it could be if you made a few tweaks, we focus on what's wrong with us…
It's about being clear on what is actually easy and fun for you, and then if you do see something that you might be inspired by, or you think, “I might want to try that out”, you can run it through your own Human Design strategy filter.
Human Design Basics
If you are not familiar with Human Design, I've written a blog post about it before which you can go and check out here.
Basically, what you need to do is get your Human Design chart first and foremost.
If you visit https://hustleandgroove.com/hd-chart/ you can get your free human design chart, that's the starting point for this entire process.
This is my own chart.
When you get your chart, the two key things you want to know are:
- what is your strategy?
- what is your authority?
And when it comes to running your online business, it's really going to be your Human Design strategy that guides you into the things that work for you, and the things that don't work for you.
Then your authority simply confirms whether you're making the right decisions based on how they feel within your body.
When you understand how your Human Design strategy works, when you really understand it and then you start implementing it in your business, you're then able to identify different ways that you can tweak other people's strategies. Because now you have a clear understanding of what it really looks like to show up in your business by simply being you.
At its core, that's what Human Design is all about… how to be more YOU.
In the past 2 years, I have done over 100 Custom Business Strategy sessions. These are based on your Human Design chart and specifically cover your strategy, authority, profile, and centres. These are what I provide to my T.C.M members within the first 48 hours of joining.
And whenever I deliver a Custom Business Strategy session… It's not that the information I'm presenting to the person is brand new information. It's not that they aren't aware of what feels good… Often a Custom Business Strategy session will start off something like this:
Hey, Julie, so you are a manifesting generator, and you have sacral authority, and here is how this looks in your business...
I'll then go on to say a whole bunch of things, and Julie will often respond with:
“Wow Lise, this sounds exactly like me, and this is how things really do feel when I'm in alignment. But how do I make sure that I'm implementing this in my business? How does that actually work?”
While I can't go into all the details without specifically seeing your own Human Design Chart, I can share where you can get started.
How to implement this framework in your business
It starts with understanding your strategy and then learning how to implement it in your business.
Below you're going to see all the individual strategies and these are based on your Human Design type.
The different types are:
- Manifester
- Generator
- Manifesting Generator
- Projector
- Reflector
And within each of those types will be a very specific strategy that is unique to that type.
Now your strategy does not change, whatever your type is, your strategy is the same.
What will be different is your authority.
When it comes to your online business and understanding what works best in your business, your Human Design strategy is your guiding light. It is how you can filter things to make sure that you're not taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Remember: It's not that the coach that you're working with, or the course that you've purchased won't work for you. Because it might. What's important to understand is that the person sharing that approach, or that strategy, is doing so based on what has worked for them and what has worked for others who are similar to them.
Here's an example:
I'm a manifesting generator with sacral authority. I know that I can help other manifesting generators who have sacral authority too. I can literally lay out a strategy, and then that manifesting generator with sacral authority could turn around and implement it and it would feel good. It would be easy and fun.
That doesn't mean that a Projector or Manifestor couldn't take that same strategy and have it work from them. But to have it work for them would require them to make tweaks to it based on their own Human Design strategy and authority.
This is why I'm all about using frameworks. Whenever I create an offer or a course or a group program, it is based on the Human Design framework as a foundation. It is based on helping you discover what is going to work best for you.
Now it's your turn!
Here is a quick way to make sure that you are doing things that work best for you in your business, based on your Human Design strategy and your type.
Side Note: In a follow-up blog post, I will dive into the different Human Design authorities. There are about nine different authorities, and that can look different for each individual person. We are all different. None of us are the same. Even though you could be a manifesting generator with sacral authority like me, it's likely that you will have different centers defined and your profile will be different. And then within each of those pieces, there are different channels and gates.
So even if we had all of the same pieces in our Human Design chart, the way that I show up and the way that you show up is going to be very different. And that's okay. You get to decide what all of this looks like, as long as you know what feels good to you.
The Human Design Strategies and Framework Prompts
Let's start with a list of all of the different strategies. Then you'll find some different prompts that you can use to help you get the clarity that you need based on your strategy, especially when it comes to running your online business.
💎 The Manifestor Strategy – “I make things happen”
Your strategy is to inform those whom your actions will impact. You move quickly and you need to inform those around you so they can get out of your way or get on board.
You are designed to manifest your dreams. If you get an idea and it excites you, go out and make it happen.
Prompts to help you filter strategies through:
- Are you beyond pumped to do this new idea/strategy/tactic?
- Do you have the energy to implement it?
- Did you tell everyone around you that you're taking action now?
- Do you feel obligated to make it happen?
🌞 The Generator Strategy – “I wait to respond”
Your strategy is to respond to the world around you. You're not here to “make things happen” but to simply respond to things that light you up, that engage your sacral motor.
You are here to use your life force energy to work and to love the work you do.
Prompts to help you filter strategies through:
- Did the new idea/strategy/tactic show up in your world externally?
- Do you feel excited in your gut to put it into action?
- Do you understand all the steps involved and do they feel easy for you to master?
- Do you have the energy to implement it right now?
✨ Manifesting Generator Strategy – “I wait to respond & then inform”
Your strategy is a combination of a manifestor and generator. You're here to respond to the world around you, to do things that light you up. But you also move quickly when your sacral motor is engaged which is why you also need to inform those around you who will be impacted by your lightning speed.
You are full of so much life! You are here to do things differently and share that with the world to inspire others to do things differently too.
Prompts to help you filter strategies through:
- Did the new idea/strategy/tactic show up in your world externally?
- Do you feel excited in your gut to put it into action?
- 24 hours later, do you still feel excited about it?
- Do you see ways that you can change it to make it faster/quicker/done?
- Have you told everyone you know about it? How they should do it too?
🔦 The Projector Strategy – “I wait to be invited”
Your strategy is to wait to be invited before sharing your amazing knowledge and wisdom with someone. You're also not designed to “make things happen.” You will find things work out when you wait to be invited and recognized before taking action.
Prompts to help you filter strategies through:
- How did you receive the idea/strategy/tactic? Were you invited to try it? Did someone suggest it to you?
- Does this new idea/strategy/tactic align with the way that I like to show up in my business?
- Do I feel excited energetically to put the effort into this?
- Am I simply doing this because I was told to or because I feel like everyone else is doing it and I don't want to experience “FoMo” – Fear of missing out?
🪞 The Reflector Strategy – “I need time to reflect”
Your strategy is to wait for a full lunar cycle (28 days) before taking action. It's also your authority. Your best course of action is to let things sit and settle around you and see how you feel after this time has passed. If you're still excited, then it's for you. If you're not, then you can pass.
Prompts to help you filter strategies through:
- At this moment, how do I feel about this new idea/strategy/tactic?
- Have I waited a full 28 days before taking action?
- What do I notice in my body when I think about implementing this idea/strategy/tactic?
As a Reflector, it's about giving yourself space to experience what it might be like to take action on what you're contemplating. You might need to process the idea with a trusted friend, journal about your expectations, and feel what it might be like if it's successful or not successful. Only then can you move forward. This is why it's important to wait the full 28 days.
Your Action Step
So now that you've gone through all of this, your immediate action step is to figure out what works best for you based on your Human Design strategy and start to implement it in your business.
Step back and use your strategy as a daily prompt, as the guiding filter to make sure that you are creating and growing an online business that's easy, fun, and profitable.
And if you do start to implement your strategy in your business, I would love to hear how that goes. Feel free to comment below and share your own insights.

Hi Lise,
It’s great to pop on to your blog and see where you are up to these days. You very kindly shared some of your experiences and insights on my Mastermind a few years back (we connected through Location Rebel). Life has had all sorts of twists and turns since then 🙂 I was enjoying your writing on “quiet marketing” and started noticing you referencing “Human design” quite a bit so I started looking into it. Turns out I’m a reflector. It was very interesting looking at and trying to make sense of my chart and what it could mean. I know you offer business support based on Human Design type & strategy, just wondering how comfortable/confident you would feel helping a reflector make sense of how to implement their type? Kind Regards, Melanie Williams de Amaya
Hey Melanie! So great to hear from you. I’ll connect with you via email shortly!
