Ever found yourself stuck in a spiral of sales anxiety? You're not alone. In this episode of The Easy Does It podcast, I share a powerful conversation I had with a member who was putting immense pressure on herself around promotional emails and sales expectations.

The Root of Sales Pressure

Here's what I often see: entrepreneurs get caught up in the “I must make X sales” mindset, which actually creates resistance and anxiety in their messaging. But here's the truth – we don't control when people buy.

We only control:

  • How we present opportunities
  • The information we provide
  • The way we show up for our audience

Introducing the GOLD Framework

To help manage these mindset blocks, I'm sharing my simple yet effective GOLD Framework:

G – Give acknowledgment to your inner voice Rather than trying to ignore or push away negative thoughts, acknowledge their presence.

O – Own it by naming the voice Give your inner critic a name (mine's Neville!) to create healthy separation between you and those thoughts.

L – Listen and thank it for having your back Remember, your inner voice is trying to protect you. Thank it for its concern.

D – Declare why you've got this handled Back up your confidence with evidence of your preparation, experience, and capabilities.

A Real-World Example

One of my members used this framework when launching her promotional emails. Instead of fixating on making 100 sales, she approached it with zero expectations.

The result? She made $100 in a single email, proving that sometimes letting go of outcomes creates better results.

The Human Design Connection

For those interested in Human Design, this framework is particularly helpful if you have an open head center (like I do).

It helps manage the pressure from both the head and root centers, which can create that pushing/pulling sensation we often feel.

Your Action Step

Ready to implement this yourself?

Here's what to do today:

  1. Identify a current mindset block
  2. Apply the GOLD Framework
  3. Choose your preferred method:
    • Speak it out loud (mirror work is great for this)
    • Write it down in your journal

Remember: The inner voice never completely goes away, but we can learn to manage it effectively.

Key Takeaway

Success doesn't come from pressuring ourselves into perfection.

It comes from creating space for authentic connection while managing our inner dialogue with compassion and wisdom.
