Hey hey, Lise here! Today, I'm super excited to share with you something I call a “promotion plan.”

This is how I intentionally promote my offers and set myself up to present the opportunity for people to buy from me every, single day.

What is a Promotion Plan?

A promotion plan is a strategic approach to marketing your products or services. It's all about being intentional with your promotions to consistently reach your income goals.

Why You Need a Promotion Plan

The number one reason my membership, The $1K Lab, exists is to help members create $1K per month consistently. And guess what? The only way that's going to happen is if you're intentional about your promotions.

Think about it: If you aren't presenting the opportunity every single day for people to buy from you, how are you going to make money?

Key Elements of a Promotion Plan

  1. Email Subscribers: The number of email subscribers you have will influence the type of promotion you do.
  2. Offers: Understanding the types of offers you're selling and their different price points.
  3. Seasonal Campaigns: Utilizing seasonal events or themes to create targeted promotions.
  4. Nurture Content: Warming up your audience before the actual promotion.
  5. Promotional Events: The actual selling period, whether it's a flash sale or a longer campaign.

Creating Your Promotion Plan: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Assess Your Current Situation

  • How many email subscribers do you have?
  • What offers do you have available?
  • What are the price points of your offers?

Step 2: Choose Your Campaign

Look through a list of potential promotional campaigns and choose one that fits your offers and audience. For example:

  • Back to School Campaign
  • Mindfulness Campaign
  • Abundance Invitation Campaign

Step 3: Plan Your Nurture Content

  • Start 1-2 weeks before your promotion
  • Send 2-3 emails sharing tips related to your upcoming promotion
  • Include a subtle mention of your upcoming sale in the PS

Step 4: Schedule Your Promotional Emails

Let's break down a 5-day promotional campaign for a mindfulness-related product (like an adult coloring book):

Day 1:

  • AM: Email 1 – Announce the promotion, explain the deal, and how customers can get it. Include an image.
  • PM: Share a post on social media

Day 2:

  • AM: Resend Email 1 to non-openers
  • PM: Share another post on social media

Day 3:

  • AM: Email 2 – Highlight the biggest benefits of your offer (e.g., the science behind mindfulness, how you've used it)
  • PM: Share a post on social media

Day 4:

  • AM: Resend Email 2 to non-openers
  • PM: Share a post on social media

Day 5 (Final Day):

  • AM: Reminder email about the promo ending today
  • PM: Last chance email

Pro Tip: For the final email, consider segmenting your list. Those who have clicked on your sales page could receive a different email addressing FAQs or providing more direct encouragement to purchase.

Step 5: Repurpose for Social Media

Take your email content and repurpose it for social media posts to reach a wider audience.

This could be in the form of text posts, images, or even videos.

Using AI tools like ChatGPT or Magai, you can repurpose your emails faster too.

Pro Tips for Your Promotion Plan

  • Avoid 24-hour flash sales; give your audience at least 2-3 days to make a decision
  • Run promotions mid-week (Tuesday-Thursday) for best results
  • Always give your audience a heads up about upcoming promotions
  • Use timers and clear call-to-actions in your promotional emails
  • Consider running a concurrent campaign to grow your email list, especially if you're just starting out

Building Your Email List

If you're just starting out with 0-100 email subscribers, focus on growing your list alongside your promotions.

Here are some ideas:

  • Create a lead magnet related to your offer
  • Share your lead magnet organically on social media
  • Consider running ads to your lead magnet
  • Spend 10 minutes a day inviting people to join your email list
  • Make list-building an ongoing process, especially leading up to big promotional campaigns
