When did fear become such a dirty word?
It has been my experience over the past 3 years since I started my freelancing journey, that my feelings of fear should not be shared with the world, and certainly not shared with my peers for FEAR of being labeled a wuss…
When the heck did feeling fearful become something to be hidden, to be pushed down and ignored?
I think it sucks. I'm not sure why, but as entrepreneurs, we're taught to hide any signs of weakness, any feelings that might allude to the fact that we're only human. Don't we all have flaws and doubts; and continuing to ignore these, will certainly lead to a life half lived.
And if you do open your mouth and voice what you're feeling? Instant shame… because we aren't able to just push through and move on. I blame mass media for this, they've done a number on us, that's for sure…
After a lot of soul-searching and discussions with my Mastermind group (yep, I broke the cardinal rule and spoke up!), I decided to face my fears as an entrepreneur. What I quickly found out is that I wasn't alone in this.
Enter my friend Mike Harrington from Break Six Figures. He's had a pretty rough journey himself the past few years and so we got to talking… which turned into a guest blog post (Firepole Marketing), which then turned into a book!
Free Your Fear: Making the Leap to Six Figures!

Mik and I are two entrepreneurs, just like you, who were crippled with fear and fear of failure when we started on this journey. We've managed to carve a path towards doing what WE love, although there have been more than a few bumps along the way…
The best thing about this new book is that we got to talk to some awesome entrepreneurs who are all at different stages on their journey, but all have had to deal with their own version of fear. We spoke to them and got all the nitty gritty details so that you can learn from them.
Here's a few of the peeps we spoke to:
